A man and woman were arrested for their alleged involvement in last month's robbery of The Little Store in Hill-N-Park on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a news release, the Weld County Regional Communications Center received a report at around 5:30 p.m. from an off-duty Greeley police officer who spotted a vehicle with passengers matching the description of suspects involved in the Little Store robbery on September 22. The officer followed the suspect vehicle from 10th Street and 35th Avenue to the Walmart parking lot off of 10th Street.

The officer witnessed the male suspect exit the vehicle and go inside the store. Meanwhile, a uniformed officer arrived on scene and took the female suspect into custody in the parking lot without further incident.

Additional Greeley Police Department Officers and Weld County Sheriff's Deputies entered the store to find the male suspect, who left through another exit heading west on foot. He was taken into custody at approximately 6 p.m. in the area of 52nd Avenue Ct and 10th Street.

The suspects are identified as 61-year-old Jerry Carl and his step-daughter, 19-year-old Lidia Hiott-Balcom. Both are being held at the Weld County Jail on charges of Aggravated Robbery and Theft.

Charges against Carl and Hiott-Balcom are merely accusations by law enforcement until proven guilty in court of law.
