Greeley Police found the body of a suspect accused of breaking into a home in the Owl Ridge subdivision in west Greeley. The homeowners say the suspect shot at them, prompting one of them to return fire.

According to 9 News in Denver:

The incident started a little before 11 a.m. Wednesday, when police received reports of a woman trespassing in someone's home. When officers arrived to the residence, two men from a neighboring house ran up to them and reported a different trespassing incident, saying a man had broken into their house and they had exchanged gunfire. The Greeley Bomb Team sent a remote-controlled robot into the home, which found a dead man in the basement.

Authorities are now trying to determine if the "Make My Day" law applies in this case. So far, no names have been released.
