Last night just before we got a reverse 9-1-1 call from Fort Collins police that had us a little concerned.  There was an armed suspect in our neighborhood and we were supposed to keep our doors and windows locked, so we knew we were in for the evening.

Here is the 1st message we received from the Police Department:

This is the Fort Collins PD we currently have a dangerous situation in your area please stay in your homes and businesses with all doors locked. Please stay away from your windows. This notification area is for the Prospect area to the north, Elizabeth to the south, Taft Hill Road to the west, and Shields to the east. We have a suspect at large who is armed. He is an Hispanic male, light colored shirt, jeans, and is bald. Please do not call 9-1-1 unless you have an emergency.

I have to be honest, we were a little nervous all night, especially after we received the 2nd call:

This is the Fort Collins Police Department, we have an update in reference to the previous dangerous incident in your area. The Fort Collins Police Department was not able to locate the suspect that we were looking for. The Fort Collins Police Department is breaking down the search perimeter, if you find a male matching the description please contact Fort Collins Police at 970-221-6540. We wanted to advise everyone that is safe to resume your normal activities at your residences. And we want to remind residents to continue to practice universal safety precautions, and continue to make sure your doors and windows are locked. Again, the suspect we are looking for is described as a bald, Hispanic male, wearing a light colored shirt and jeans, the male is still considered to be armed and dangerous.

They still haven't found the suspect, who Fort Collins police have identified as Jose Ornelas-Licano through their twitter page, which went on to say that he shot at police and is considered dangerous. The good news:  We are all o.k.
