Run, Forest, run! Or... run for the forests... run... Sorry, I'm a sucker for puns. On April 30, the 2nd Annual Arbor Day 5K will be taking place at the CSU Oval, and proceeds will benefit forest restoration.

Our Colorado forests take a beating, from fires to floods to beetles. Alpha Gamma Omega, Colorado State's Warner College of Natural Resources and the Colorado State Forest Service are hosting the Arbor Day 5K in hopes of raising enough funds to show our forests some TLC.

In a press release, race director Chandler Nuemann stated, 'Our goal is to raise at least $2,000, and we are donating all of the profits to the Restoring Colorado’s Forest Fund. This fund, run by the Colorado State Forest Service, provides tree seedlings for planting on lands most severely impacted by wildfire and other disasters in Colorado.'

You can sign up for the race online at arborday5k.weebly.com.
