I grew up listening to country music. Buck Owens and Charley Pride and Eddy Arnold were cranked in our house more often than not. I loved that music but it wasn't until I heard the voice of the outlaw Waylon Jennings that I truly got some red in my neck. Waylon was just plain cool. He has that longer than the rest hair that was always kind of messed up and wore his hat a little different than the mainstream. I loved that rebel soul.

It was 12 years ago today that we lost Waylon to diabetes. He had struggled with it for years and the complications caught up to him Feb 13 2002 at the age of 64. I remember the day well and for the last 12 years I have been cranking Waylon every Feb 13. Here are a few of the gems I will be blasting through the day. A 6 pack of my favorite Waylon tunes. Thanks for the music hombre. You provided part of the soundtrack of my life.
