Remembering John Denver – What Other Country Stars Have Died in Plane Crashes?

Today marks a very sad day in music history. One of music's most sweet and gentle souls, John Denver, died in a plane crash 20 years ago today. He left us with some timeless music and will always be remembered by music fans around the world.

Unfortunately John has not been the only country star to lose their life in a plane crash. Here are a few country voices that were taken away way too early due to airplane crashes.

March 5, 1963 Patsy Cline along with Cowboy Copas and Hawkshaw Hawkins died in a crash new Camden, Tennessee.

July 31, 1964 Jim Reeves was killed in a small plane in Nashville.

December 31, 1985 Rick Nelson died when his plane caught fire and crashed in Texas.

March 16, 1991 Reba’s band of 8 were killed in an air accident near San Diego.

October 12, 1997 John Denver died in a crash off the California coast.
