It is said that George Jones loved breakfast, now I am not sure if that is because of his line of um, sausage, but nonetheless let's make a breakfast worth sharing and put on some George Jones, maybe "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes".

Sausage Breakfast Bake

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

1 lb of pork sausage (my favorite is Farmland), 8 eggs, 1 1/2 cup of milk, 1 french baguette (chopped into bite sized pieces), 4 oz of cream cheese and 1 cup of cheddar cheese (I prefer sharp or X-tra sharp) Optional additions: Green onions for garnish and/or diced red pepper mixed in with the eggs.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:

In a greased 9x13 casserole pan start with the bread pieces, mix together the eggs, milk and half of the cheddar cheese (peppers too if using) and pour over the bread, drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese randomly over the mixture then sprinkle on the cooked sausage and remaining cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 uncovered for 30-40 minutes (just until the eggs set up any longer and it will be like showing up at a breakfast buffet in the last ten minutes when everything is dry and over cooked and even crunchy and not in a good way)

If the mixture once added to the bread seems a bit dry add just a little extra milk.

AND for an extra treat... George Jones and "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes"
