The standard veggies are fine for Thanksgiving, but it's fun to throw a curve ball in there once in a while. And remember to add the new recipes, don't omit old ones for the new creations, your family will revolt and head for the seas.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

1 Medium onion (chopped), 3 garlic cloves (grated), 1/2 cup of half and half, 2 Tbsp of butter and a big bag of frozen peas (16oz)

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:

In a medium saucepan melt the butter until it is frothy then add the onion and cook for about 2 minutes, now add the grated garlic cloves and cook for another minute then add the half and half continue cooking for another two minutes on medium low before adding the peas. (I take the peas out of the freezer and set on the counter while I am doing the other steps so that the peas don't come directly from the freezer to the frying pan, so to speak) :) Cook until the peas are warmed through and stir in a little salt and pepper before serving.
