The fourth of July weekend has come and gone, but the tasty treats and dishes still echo great flavors in my mind. My sister-in-law Tammy in Lincoln, Nebraska made an amazing Asian Salad, a perfect side dish to my brother-in-law's (the new Captain of the Civil Division of the Lancaster County Sheriff's office) burgers as a perfect side dish.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

1 pkg of broccoli slaw, 1 pkg of coleslaw (raw in bag in produce section), 1 cup toasted almonds, a handful of shelled sunflower seeds, 1 pkg of ramen noodles (your favorite is fine, Tammy uses beef (I believe) :), 1/2 cup oil, cider vinegar and sugar with a 1/4 cup soy sauce and the flavor packet from the ramen noodles.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:

Toss together the slaws, nuts and ramen noodles. In a separate bowl combine the oil, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and seasoning packet and mix till blended together. If you make this dish ahead of time, store them separately until you are ready to serve and then mix in the dressing.

This is tasty, be careful though, it will go fast, so you might want to double the batch if you have a big crowd coming over.

Thank you to my amazing sister-in-law for making this great dish, sharing the recipe with me and putting us up in their home in Lincoln, Nebraska for the Fourth of July. (She's a good seed)
