Last week I wrote about the importance of families gathering for dinner together. I feel that is one of the reasons for so many of our problems in the world today. Another thing I think would help get the world back in the right direction would be a return to the daily Pledge Of Allegiance in classrooms. It is a way to start the day orderly and unified. We seem to cater to the vocal minority and forget that God loving Americans have as many rights as others and should be able to express them. If there is someone who really is offended by the pledge they can remain seated, much like if you are not taking part in communion at church. You don't have to get involved but others should get to if they want to. Nobody is forcing you to put your hand on your heart and speak but those who want to should have every right to do so without fear of offending anyone. You are in an American institution getting an education so I don't think paying tribute to the nation that provides it is asking too much.

Teach your children the pledge and make sure they know of the sacrifice our veteran's made to make our lives what they are today. God bless our soldiers and our country. Put your hand over you heart and say it loud and proud with me...

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Check out this great piece by Red Skelton.
