Shannon Fraser, a woman who was missing for 17 days in the rugged Australian rainforest survived after getting disoriented and being chased by a fresh water crocodile. According to the Discovery Channel, Shannon Fraser, a 30 year mother-of-thee went missing in the remote region of Josephine Falls in Queensland Australia on September 21. All she was wearing was leggings, a shirt and flip flops when she became disorientated losing her way. After search efforts she was spotted by a banana farmer showing signs of her survival, covered in cuts, welts, bruises, extreme sun burn and insect bites.

She survived by eating small fish and releasing her pain from her intense sun burn by repeatedly submerging herself in streams of water. Over the 17 days she lost nearly 37 pounds and had several run-ins with wild animals including a Cassowary flightless bird and she was even chased by a 6.5 foot freshwater crocodile.
