Larimer County Commissioners will consider proposed rates increases for the Larimer County Landfill and Transfer Stations at the annual Budget hearings in Fort Collins and Estes Park next week. Rates are reviewed on an annual basis. The rate increases are being proposed to fund the Solid Waste department and help set aside monies for future facilities to serve citizens.

Most of the landfill rates proposed have a 4% increase with the exception of the rubble rate.  These materials take up landfill air space and are hard to compact.  Transfer stations rates are proposed to increase at 5%.  Transfer station rates do not cover their total cost of disposal.
