The Obama administration announced that due to staffing reductions caused by the sequester that White House tours would be cancelled effective Saturday.  And here I thought it was "volunteers" who run the tours; not paid staff.

Rep. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D. when asked about President Obama shutting down all moves in light of the sequester responded with,

It seems childish — take my ball and go home.

Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, was quick to respond and add,

The people have been banned from the people’s house.

Hard to argue that point.  It is OUR house.  We pay for it, all of it including the salary for the Commander in Chief, Congress and the whole lot.  Now it seems that unless you make a $500,000 donation to the Obama for America program, you can't get in, period.  But if you donate a half mill, you get direct access to the President.

Where does this money go anyway?  And speaking of a "sequester," why not start with Congressional and Presidential salaries!  And this again is great example of "it doesn't matter who you voted for" because the White House is a public place paid for by the public...that's you and I!  Now we can't even tour the home we pay for and correct me if I'm wrong but tours are run by volunteers; not paid staff.

So how would you start saving money?  Would you cut tours of the White House or salaries of those who are causing these problems?  Let us know where YOU would start saving taxpayer dollars.
