According to Denver Channel 7, a nurse who worked at Poudre Valley Hospital has been fired after it was realized that she was looking at patient records.

The nurse's name has not been released.

UC Health has stated that the nurse looked at the records of over 800 patients, but did not have access to social security numbers along with personal and financial information. Insurance information, care received, addresses, date of birth, and other information was accessible to the nurse.

The employee stated to hospital officials that she was only viewing the information out of curiosity.

Letters have been sent to affected patients but if you have any questions you can contact Poudre Valley Hospital at (844) 470-1755 to speak to UCHealth’s director of compliance and privacy.
