Postal Workers Food Drive Saturday

The National Association of Letter Carriers will be having their 20th annual food drive this Saturday. They will be collecting non-perishable donations as they go about their daily deliveries. It is the the largest single-day food drive in the country.
Last year 70.2 million pounds of food was collected. That brings the total to over one billion pounds collected since the event began in 1992. You can do your part by putting out a sturdy sack full of things like canned soup, canned vegetables, canned meats and fish, cereal, rice, pasta and such and set it next to your mailbox on Saturday. Carriers will bring the goods to local food banks, pantries and shelters.
