A popular restaurant serving Italian cuisine has stopped operations to explore a new culinary concept.

According to the Coloradoan, Enzio's Italian Kitchen at 126 W. Mountain Avenue had a note on its door from Hot Corner Concepts (also the owner of Moot House, Big Al's, and Austin's) saying other ideas for the space were being evaluated.

While the new concept won't be determined or announced publicly until the end of the year, the future of Enzio's will be a "completely new direction" and "very fun."

A popular date and graduation dinner destination, Enzio's opened 12 years ago and served pasta, Neapolitan pizza, and a wide array of wines.

The new restaurant is expected to open in the spring.
