The restaurant at Pelican Lakes Golf and Country Club in the Water Valley subdivision in Windsor is under new management and will receive a complete building renovation. After Jan. 6, 2014 the restaurant’s current tenant, Austin’s Homestead Grill at Pelican Lakes, will cease running the restaurant after eight years. A management and service team composed mostly of former Austin’s employees will take over operation of the restaurant.

The restaurant will be closed from Jan. 6th  to March 1st. During that time the log cabin-style building will receive an interior remodel to its current bar area, and add on a sports bar underneath the main restaurant building.

According to a press release from Pelican Lakes:

“The lobby and bar will look slightly less ‘lodgey,’ and more swanky,” said Anna Becerra, the director of sales and events for the restaurant. “The bar will have a more open floor plan with more high top tables and a soft seating area. It’s going to be like a cocktail lounge for before and after dinner drinks.

The downstairs sports bar will feature televisions, three golf simulators, and a small kitchen that will create pizzas, sandwiches, paninis, nachos and other bar-style food for both Pelican Lakes members and guests. This same kitchen will also serve patrons of the swimming pool during the summer months. The kitchen is tentatively scheduled to be open in May.
