With the 2014 Olympic Winter Games about to begin in Sochi Russia, the parent of one former medalist stops by Greeley to offer her advice on parenting athletes.

Being the parent of several athlete students I know all too well about the ups and downs of their lives.  Living on top of a mountain one day in in the valley of death the next.  Learning how to handle all that sometimes comes with a price though.

BL Wylie, mother of 1992 Olympic Silver Medalist Paul Wylie, probably knows more than a lot of us about the right way to go about dealing with a student athlete. BL Wylie has spent thousands of hours talking to parents, students and athletes across the country about how to achieve the best results when it comes to getting the most out of your kid, proper support and just maximizing their potential; thus minimizing some of the stress on your own personal life.

Join BL Wylie at the Hensel Phelps Theater (651 10th Ave.) in Greeley on Monday, January 27th at 6:00 PM. The seminar/event is free and open to parents, coaches and student athletes but especially to those of you who might have a potential figure skater in your life.  Either way, she has been mentoring students and parents for years and her advice could make a difference in not only your life, but your student athlete's as well.
