‘Thank You’ Notes Being Left on Firetrucks at the High Park Fire, Share Your ‘Thank You’ Message for the Firefighters

They say it’s the little things and it’s so true. Someone is leaving “Thank You” notes on the firetrucks working the High Park Fire this morning.

The fire has burned over 46,000 acres, and today, officials are saying the crews are more optimistic on making progress on building a fire line. The High Park Fire has been burning since Saturday and is estimated to be 10+% contained as of Wednesday morning.

High Park Fire -Thursday Update [5:00 a.m.]

The strong smell of smoke is in the air this morning all along the Front Range. A WILDFIRE SMOKE HEALTH ADVISORY is in effect for areas north northwest to north northeast of the High Park Fire to the Wyoming state line and south southeast along the Front Range. Cities include, but are not limited to Poudre Park, Livermore, Ft Collins, Longmont, Loveland, Boulder, and Greeley.  The High Park Fire is now at 46,820 acres with 10% containment.

Larimer County announced that it will open the High Park Fire Disaster Recovery Center this Friday morning, June 15th at 7am at Johnson Hall on the Colorado State University campus in Fort Collins. This Disaster Recovery Center will provide a one-stop opportunity for victims of the High Park Fire to receive services and obtain information on County, State, and CSU services.

The City of Fort Collins Utilities wants residents to know it’s taking steps to make sure the cities drinking water is not affected by the High Park Fire. Fort Collins’ drinking water quality has not been affected by recent fires. Officials can expect Fort Collins’ water quality to remain at an expected high level.
