My house is a bit of zoo. I have fish, grand kids, 2 dogs and 2 ducks. This morning was turn for duck duty. I had to get the ducks from their sleeping chambers in the garage and move them out the backyard cage that they spend the days in.
You ever look at the picture on the front of food box and then open it up to find nothing that resembles the picture? I have bought many frozen pizzas that looked covered in toppings and cheese only to find a unleavened wafer with a few strands of cheese and couple cubes of protein.
I think we are getting better as a nation at fighting prejudice but there is one group of people who I feel is still being treated very poorly. I am here to speak for the overweight population. Why do people feel it is okay to call people fat or chubby or make fun of them because of their weight?
Charley Barnes is one my dearest friends in the whole world. I love this man. Charley is one guy who has been there for me in all situations. He has helped me and been there for me when no one else was.
Yesterday turned into Christmas for me. I wrote a blogawhile back about my joy of finding the Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix at one of local stores. I wrote about how happy I was to find them and that I was overjoyed that they tasted just like the ones in the restaurant
I am starting a week long vacation and I am going to try an experiment. I am going to go the whole week without checking my email or logging onto Facebook or other social media. I am going to reconnect with the world around me without sharing all the details.
I had an amazing Father's Day. We went for a family walk on the Poudre River Trail and then set up a water park in the front yard. We swam around in my grandson's pool and then set up the Slip n Slide.
I was so excited for my grandson Zander at his 3rd birthday. He got his first Hot Wheels case from my buddy Bob Purcell. I felt it was kind of a rite of passage to childhood. I remember my Hot Wheels case.
I was so fortunate to be raised by the most wonderful mother in the world. My mom has always been there for me. I gave her every reason to give up but she never did. She has always been supportive and my biggest fan.
I have overdone it lately. I did the 28 Hours of Hope last month which is very taxing on the mind and body. Two weeks later I went on my motorcycle trip to Topeka which also was very draining physically and mentally. My body has been feeling beat up.
I recently read a survey that talked about the most irritating or obnoxious things that parents do. As I read through the list I realized that I am guilty of many of these violations. According to the survey the number one irritating parental violation is using the cutesy baby voice
George Strait is getting ready to celebrate his 61st birthday on May 18th and it looks like he may have his 60th number one hit in time to celebrate. His latest song "Give It All We Got Tonight" is hitting the top ten and looks like it may make to the top in time for the candles to be blown out on the cake.
