Out With the Old In With the New
My wife and I purchased our first home last Thursday and we absolutely love it! There are only a few minor things we have to do to make it our own, like painting and such. Thankfully after making such a huge commitment we don't have to tear anything down.
Starting on Friday after we unpacked some boxes, we decided that we needed to finish what the last owner started. In the kitchen, there is a new refrigerator and range. The range hood and dishwasher were the only items left to change out. Thankfully I am pretty thrifty when it comes to making purchases! I was able to find an over the range microwave for $100 less than what you would find in most retail stores. My friend Anthony came over and we knocked out the install in less than an hour!
Here is what the new food nuker looks like installed! Please forgive the mess... I was super excited to take a photo and didn't care to take the time to clean up prior.
Next is the dishwasher. Again, found a great deal and scored an open box deal for 50% off of retail price. Anthony came over again to help out on the removal and install.
Out with the old...
In with the new!
Next up is an update to the thermostat... This one is a wifi smart thermostat and yet again I happened to score a killer deal on it! I saved over 50% on the regular price! I can now control the temp in my house from anywhere I choose. I feel so powerful!
The game is coming up on Sunday and the wall looks a little bare...
Ahhh... That's much better!
The wall in the master bathroom looks like Al Capone had a decent shoot out in there! I have done the initial filling of the holes and now have to go back for round two.
All in all, not a bad week for getting things done around the house, our first house! Now... Time for painting!
