You've heard me say numerous times that if you have never taken part of a Northern Colorado Honor Flight you are missing out on one of the best feelings known to mankind.

On Sunday, September 9th, the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders will provide a motorcycle escort for 185 WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War Purple Heart Awardees from the Budweiser Event Center in Loveland to Denver International Airport. These war veterans/hero's are being flown to Washingto D.C. to see their memorials at no cost to them.

The veterans have been asked to arrive at 6:30AM for registration and check-in. They will register and receive their travel instructions at the Embassy Suites Hotel.

Buses, provided by CSU, will arrive around 7:30AM and the veterans will board the buses at about 8:00AM for an 8:30AM departure. The Colorado PGR will provide escort to the Signature FBO hangar at DIA. Several Law Enforcement Agencies will be providing LEO escort all the way to DIA.

Honor Flight of Northern Colorado are also requesting a flag line/greeting line for the veterans as they arrive at the FBO hangar at DIA. This will be the 9th time the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to provide this honor for these veterans.

Last year, the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders, by a unanimous vote of the Honor Flight of Northern Colorado, has been chosen and designated the "official and preferred" escort to honor these men and women.

The parking area for the bikes will be in the east parking lot in a coned off area...please park all bikes there. The hotel has asked that all bikes park in the specially marked area and that no bikes park on the sidewalk. Once you park your bike, the area for the flag line will be the east door...not the front door; the riders brief will take place by the east door as well.

PGR Officers leading the ride will be RC: Greg Watson and RC: Roger Schmidt
