Northern Colorado Honor Flight is locked and loaded for Sunday May 4. The trip to Washington D.C. is all about Purple Hearts and the Veterans that earned them.

185 Veterans from WWII, Korean War and Viet Nam, whom have all earned a Purple Heart, will be heading to Washington D.C. this Sunday to see the War Memorials that have been built in their honor.

The Veterans will be meeting at the Embassy Suites (4705 Clydesdale Pkwy) in Loveland and leaving on the buses for D.I.A. at 8;30 a.m. The route again goes down I-25 to E-470 so there are many great vantage points along the route to stand with your flags and cheer these true American heroes as they come by in 3 buses. It's an awesome sight and many of the overpasses have firetrucks etc with huge flags suspended...it's a very cool thing to see.

Important notice for motorcycle riders who want to ride in the escort parade line

In order to ride in the escort to DIA you must attend both riders briefs and stand in the flag line. If you miss the briefings you will not be allowed to ride in the actual escort - no exceptions. The first brief will be held at 6:00 AM and the second briefing held by the Larimer County Sheriffs office will be held 15 minutes before departure. You DO NOT have to be an official PGR member but if you want to ride in the actual escort, you will need to follow the PGR protocol - Patriot Guard Riders of Colorado

The flag-ling starts at 6:15 a.m. but you must be there for the first meeting no later than 6:00 a.m. For more information, please contact Matt Voris with Honor Flight Northern Colorado or Greg 'Hey' Watson, Roger 'Spike' Schmidt or Matt "Bear Claw" Tippets with the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders.
