Newtown CT High School Goes Undefeated One Year After Sandy Hook
It's an amazing story. The Newton Nighthawks haven't won a title in over 21 years. It looks like that is about to change but there is more irony to it.
It's been a year already since the most devastating school shooting occurred at Sandy Hook elementary in Newtown Connecticut. It's been 10 years since the High School football team has gone undefeated and 21 years since they have won a state title.
That is about to change it seems as they just wrapped up one of their best seasons in years with a perfect 11-0 record. The Nighthawks are now on their way to the LL State Championships as the top seed but the irony is that if they make the championship game, it would be played on either December 13th or the 14th; exactly one year to the date of the Sandy Hook shooting.
How can you not route for these guys! I for one will be checking their local news in the weeks to come.
