Smoke can be seen in and around Boulder and north Denver as reports of a new fire has broken out in Boulder County. The fire has been named the Flagstaff Fire and is southwest of the city of Boulder.

Pre-evacuation notices have been sent for several grass fires that may have been started by lightning.

The Boulder Daily Camera is reporting that many of the fires in the area have been controlled or completely snuffed out. The lone remaining fire, according to the newspaper, is a six-acre blaze burning near Bison Road, where flames as high as 2-3 feet have been spotted.
