If you love country/folk music, and our military, you are going to love Nell Robinson & The Rose of No-Man's Land just as much as I. This is a must have CD.

Nell Robinson can not only sing, she can also trace her roots back 250 years with family members who have fought in every conflict from the Revolutionary War to Iraq.

The CD, produced by Grammy Winning producer Joe Henry, will be released on 4 November 2014 and features songs that sing about her families history. The source is from archived letters, documents, mementos and generational lore and it's all centered around war and everything attached to the many battles fought on foreign and domestic soil.

The song that inspired the project was done by Gene Scheer's 'American Anthem' which began 7 years ago. The show called Soldier Stories received a standing ovation on the Kennedy Center's Millennium stage and was the inspiration for her album which began production in 2012 and recounts the military stories of Nell's family.

Other songs include "Wahatchee" (Native American for 'war woman') which is a story about Ann Hart who was, well, a bad-ass in modern terms. The story has it that she beat down and ran off a group of Redcoats who tried to overtake her home during the Revolutionary War. Another song called "Happy to Go" is all about the bonds that are created during war between their military family and their own personal families and the loyalty it creates on both sides.

There are also traditional songs written by the late Johnny Cash and Bill Monroe. Guy Clark and Rodney Crowell are also featured on the CD. In fact, one song called "Heroes" deals with the fact that our current veterans commit suicide in greater numbers than those killed in combat. Other notables include Kris Kristofferson, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, John Doe, Maxine Hong Kingston and Kathy Baker.

The album will also be followed with a spot on the "Music Gone Public" segment done by PBS.
