Nearly a Decade Since He Left Us We Still Miss Buck Owens [VIDEO]

It was nine years ago today that country music legend Buck Owens passed away. The sound of Buck filled my house when I was growing up. I remember being a little boy standing on the picnic table in the backyard singing "I've Got a Tiger by the Tail" at the top of my lungs. The vision of his red, white and blue guitar will stick with me forever. Like most Americans my age I can't think of Buck without thinking of him pickin' and a grinnin' with Roy Clark on the front porch of Hee Haw.

Buck never quit being cool. Dwight Yoakam brought Buck back on the charts in the late '80's with the smash "Streets of Bakersfield" which went all the way to top. He was a great man whose influence is still felt today. Thanks for the memories Buck.
