A nail technician in New York City was listed as a recipient of a hefty sum on a late client's will.

Karen Parker Gray, who died at age 72, left her nail tech, Jenny Kim, $50,000 on her will. Kim told the New York Daily News that Gray, an heiress, had been her client for the past 12 years.

It's not unheard of for heiresses to leave money for non-family members.

In 2011, Huguette Clark, who died at age 104, left $34 million for her nurse. And last year another heiress, Ruth T. Bedford, left $40 million to the all-girls Foxcroft School in Virginia, from which she graduated in 1932.
