While half of America was driving up I-25 to Casper, WY, my wife, Jenny, and my cousins, John and Paula, drove to Alliance, NE to see the total eclipse of 2017. When they got to Alliance, it  was a frenzy, so they did some backtracking to the town of Angora, NE. (Population 37) It was the best decision they made all day.

It was charming. Residents of the tiny town delivered zucchini cake and ice tea to all of out-of-towners there to see the eclipse.  There were visitors from as far away as Wisconsin, but not as many folks as the nearby town of Alliance. There were 15-20 cars in all.

Seeing the full eclipse of the sun was "everything and more" than Jenny imagined it would be. As it got darker, the wind came up and the temperature dropped and the two street lights in town came on. Some people even put on their jackets, but the total solar eclipse and corona was breathtaking and well worth the trip.

Jenny took these wonderful photos in Angora, Nebraska August 21, 2017.
