My First Parade In 25 Years Lit My Holiday Spirit- Brian’s Blog

For the last 25 years I have never watched a parade. I am always in the parades so I never have had a chance to watch one. I never took the time to miss promoting myself in a parade and just watched one with my kids.

This past Saturday night was the Greeley "Lights the Night" parade and my wife, daughter and grand kids and I went down to watch it together. What a great night! I had the chance to drive the K99 truck or ride with Charley and his Sleigh Ridersbut I decided I wanted to watch it with the kids and watch them watch a parade. What a gift it was. I made the right choice. Getting to put Zander on my shoulders and listen to him holler for Santa and the Grinch and Charley and Susan, who was riding with the Stampede Riders, was such a treat. I got to see the magic through his eyes and little 4 month old Zayden's eyes, which were big as saucers the whole time. I treasured every moment and felt a bit of regret that I never got to do it with my kids. I was always too busy. Take the time to breathe in the holidays this year and don't let work get in the way. Find those moments to embrace. You will be glad you did. Thanks to all involved in putting on the parade and the entries who made it so much fun. It sure put me in the right frame of mind for the holidays.
