My Amazing Tree Removal [PHOTOS] – Brian’s Blog

Yesterday was a huge day at my house. The massive cottonwood tree that had shaded my home for decades has been removed. I am blown away at how different things look. I loved that tree but it had died and was a hazard to the whole neighborhood. I can now rest easy when the wind blows not worrying about whether a branch was going to bust through my home or the window of a car. My wife has been scared of it for years and now can ease her mind.

I called around to get some bids on the removal and settled on Benitez Tree Service in Greeley. I could not be more pleased with the results. They arrived early in the morning and worked for 11 solid hours only breaking for a 45 minute lunch. They were so polite and professional. My yard and the street around my home are actually cleaner than before they came. You would never know a tree was even there. I cannot recommend these guys enough. They gave me a great price and did such an amazing job.

When I got home from work yesterday they had already trimmed most of the branches and were just down to the big limbs. I made a salami sandwich, grabbed a bag of chips and jumped in the bed of my truck to watch. I looked over my shoulder and saw the neighbors were out in their lawn chairs watching it all happen as well. If you picnic in the bed of your truck while watching a tree cutting...you might be a redneck.

The whole process just fascinated me. I love the big equipment like the cherry picker, big saws and my new favorite, the stump grinder. I had never seen one of those bad boys in action. I cannot believe how it just made it all disappear. I have never been more pleased with hiring someone for a job.

I saved a big chunk of the trunk that I will make a table out of as soon as the I get the squirrel pee smell out of it. I swear every squirrel in my area used this tree as a port-a-potty. They are now homeless and looking for a place to live. I had several of them knock on my door last night asking what I did with their nuts they had stashed. It is like I closed their savings and loan office.

We have waited for years to have this beautiful yet dangerous tree to be gone and now it is. I could not be happier with the outcome. Thank you to Benitez Tree Service for doing a great job. To all the homeless bugs...I'm sorry.
