Mountain Music Holds a Wake as it Closes It’s Doors
I’ve never attended to a wake, let alone a wake for a business. But when a much loved store closes it’s doors, there are sure to be mourners.
The Mountain Music store is closing its doors in Old Town Fort Collins after 42 years in business,.
Mountain Music at 631 South College Avenue offered instruments, band rentals, lessons and instrument repair services. Jeff Hoffman purchased the business in 1987 will keep it open until mid February.
“For the last 27 years I have attempted to introduce people of all ages to nice quality, inexpensive instruments to get them grounded into music,” Hoffman said.
Hoffman will host an Irish-style wake for the business from 5-10 p.m. Saturday at Cafe Ole, 646 S. College Ave., the original location of Mountain Music. Bring your instruments.
