I-25 & 392

Every morning when I am driving to work in Windsor, I forget if the Windsor exit will be open or not. Thanks to the Colorado Department of Transportation, I can keep up on what is going on with the bridge construction project. Starting tonight (Sunday, March 25 at 6 p.m.), CDOT will have lane closures related to the Highway 392 at I-25 improvement project. There will also be median, striping and shoulder work at the Johnstown exit.

CDOTLane closures will mostly affect the frontage road on the west side of the intersection of the two highways. Starting tonight and lasting until Friday, March 29 at 6 a.m., the frontage road on the west side of the intersection of the two highways will be closed south of highway 392 for paving work.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation:  You can expect the following lane closures and detour routes this week:

  • Sunday, March 25 at 6 p.m. to Monday, March 26 at 6 a.m.: The southbound and northbound lanes of the west frontage road will be closed both north and south of SH 392 approximately a quarter mile for earthwork, concrete, and asphalt paving. The frontage road north of SH 392 will reopen by Monday, March 26 at 6 a.m.
  • Northbound traffic will be detoured south to CR 30, west to CR 9, then north to SH 392. Southbound traffic will be detoured to southbound I-25.
  • Sunday, March 25 at 6 p.m. through Friday, March 29 at 6 a.m.: The frontage road will be closed south of SH 392 in both directions for approximately a quarter mile for earthwork, concrete, and asphalt paving.
  • Northbound traffic will be detoured south to CR 30, west to CR 9, then north to SH 392. Southbound traffic will be detoured to southbound I-25.
  • Monday, March 26 at 8 p.m. to Tuesday, March 27 at 6 a.m.: The SH 392 on-ramp to northbound I-25 and the northbound I-25 off-ramp will be closed for concrete paving. Detour routes will be in place and marked.
  • Beginning tonight (Sunday, March 25) CDOT will be performing median, shoulder, and striping work on I-25 from mile marker (MM) 249 near State Highway 56 south of Johnstown to MM 258 near US 34 at Loveland. Night work will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through next Thursday, March 29 as part of the ongoing project.

This work is part of a $17.5 million project that replaces the SH 392 bridge over I-25.
