According to a press release sent out by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office Monday afternoon, police are investigating an exterior door and window that were damaged at Cottonwood Plains Elementary School by a small firearm over the weekend. The school is located in the Thompson School District in Loveland.

It is believed the damage occurred during the overnight hours from late Saturday into early Sunday morning when the school was closed and unoccupied. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident.

The latest news comes on the heels of a shooting that occurred at the Banner Medical Center on Harmony in Fort Collins over the weekend. No one was injured in that shooting by an unidentified person which caused damage to the Medical Center.
