Moped Driver Hit and Killed by Semi-Truck Driver in Loveland
A semi-truck driver struck a moped driver in Northeast Loveland on Friday, killing the driver of the moped. The crash closed down East 37th Street and Rocky Mountain Avenue for a couple of hours north of the Outlets at Loveland.
33-year-old Efrain Urquidi-Alarcon was driving a semi-tractor trailer eastbound on East 37th Street at Rocky Mountain Avenue when he stopped at a stop sign behind a moped. Urquidi-Alarcon began to turn the semi and struck the 32-year-old man driving the moped.
The man was taken to the hospital where he later died. The Larimer County Coroner has yet to release the identity and the cause of death, of the man. No charges were filed as of Friday afternoon.
