Police found a snow-covered car in a parking lot with a two-year-old boy inside. He had spent 14 hours Friday night alone in the car with temperatures dropping below zero. A call to police Saturday morning revealed that 26-year-old Nicole Carmon said she'd been in an accident and got a ride home the night before and she was looking for her toddler.

Investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what happened. Thorton Police discovered the car in front of the Panda Express on East 120th Avenue. When they swept off the snow and opened the door, they found the little boy inside. He had suffered serious frostbite and hypothermia and was taken to a local hospital. He is expected to survive.

Carmon is now being held in the Adams County Detention Center for investigation of Felony Child Abuse. Anyone with information is asked to call the Thornton Police tip line at (720) 977-5069. This case remains an active and on-going investigation.
