She stood up for her profession. She represented Colorado like no other could. And, she said she wants Ellen Degeneres to be on the $10 bill.  So, why WOULDN’T she be invited to be on Ellen’s show?

Kelley Johnson came in as ‘second runner-up’ at the Miss America pageant on Sunday Sept 13, 2015.Even though Miss Georgia took the crown, Kelley was the clear winner. Her monologue during the talent competition quickly became the talk of the nation. The way she eschewed the usual ‘talents’ such singing opera, to talk about her talent as being a nurse, got people talking, for sure. She may have set competitions on their ears for years to come! “Should I do a monologue too, or play the guitar?’

The nation has all but vilified the women of ‘The View’ for how they dissed her monologue. To hell with those ‘ladies’- Kelley rocks!

During the pageant, Kelley was asked who she’d put on the $10 bill—‘Ellen Degeneres.’ Well, there you go- that had to have sealed the invitation to be on The Ellen Show. I mean, doing such a bang up job talking about nursing was probably going to get her an invite—but the $10 bill thing? Forget about it.

It’s funny how Kelley was surprised by people saying she might get invited to be on ‘Ellen.’ Seems clear that America- especially Colorado- loves her, America loves Ellen- this one was easy.

Of course, Ellen has to do something grand. She just can’t have Miss Colorado on her show and just yuck it up, she has to go big.  And ‘go big’ she did.

What’s next for Miss Colorado?  Maybe someday—SHE will be on the $10 bill!
