Country music legend Merle Haggard died in hospice care after his long battle with pneumonia, according to Country Aircheck

Merle Turned 79 today (April 6th) and was one of the most iconic and influential artists in country music. Haggard's music includes over 70 albums and more than 600 songs in which he wrote more than half himself.

Merle Haggard was an outlaw we all loved in country music. He had his fair share of encounters with the law and he even served time in San Quentin Prison. Haggard's sound has had a resounding impact on the genre and forever changed country music. Rest in peace Merle and thank you for your wonderful, timeless music.
