When a soldier pays the ultimate price and lays down his or her life protecting the freedom of our great country it goes largely unnoticed; until now. Every week I post names of those “who gave all” so I can pay my respects and remember why I/we have the freedom we do. Sometimes names are added after I post this so you can check back during the week for names that have been added.

Army Capt. Michael C. Braden - Died April 18, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 31, of Lock Haven, Pa.; assigned to the Division Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.; died April 18 in Bagram, Afghanistan.

Army Sgt. Chris J. Workman - Died April 19, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 33, of Boise, Idaho; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii; died April 19 in Helmand province, Afghanistan, when his Black Hawk (UH-60) crashed. Also killed were Chief Warrant Officer Nicholas S. Johnson, Chief Warrant Officer Don C. Viray and Sgt. Dean R. Shaffer.

Age 25, of Waipahu, Hawaii; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii; died April 19 in Helmand province, Afghanistan, when his Black Hawk (UH-60) crashed. Also killed were Chief Warrant Officer Nicholas S. Johnson, Sgt. Dean R. Shaffer and Sgt. Chris J. Workman.

Age 28, of Cobb, Ga.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 504th Infantry, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died April 22 in Paktia, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
