Army Spc. James A. Justice - Died August 17, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 21, of Grover, N.C.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy; died Aug. 17 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, from injuries suffered Aug. 14 that were caused by small-arms fire in Wardak province, Afghanistan.

Army Pfc. Michael R. DeMarsico II - Died August 16, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 20, of North Adams, Mass.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.; died Aug. 16 in Panjway, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by an improvised explosive device.

Army Staff Sgt. Eric S. Holman - Died August 15, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom. Age 39, of Evans City, Pa.; assigned to 192nd Ordnance Battalion, 52nd Ordnance Group, 20th Support Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died Aug. 15 in Ghazni province, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by an improvised explosive device.

Age 21, of Oceanside, N.Y.; assigned to Headquarters Company, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; while deployed, he was attached to 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; died Aug. 10 in Garmsir, Afghanistan, after being shot by an Afghan civilian. Also killed were Marine Staff Sgt. Scott E. Dickinson, 29, of San Diego and Marine Cpl. Richard A. Rivera Jr., 20 of Ventura, Calif.
