Man Shot in Head Near Johnson’s Corner
Larimer County Sheriff's deputies and Johnstown police are investigating a shooting that happened early Saturday morning near Johnson's Corner. The Denver Post reported that a 49-year-old man, who has not been identified, was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to an area hospital, where he remained Sunday. His condition was not released. An unidentified 55-year-old woman was also at the scene of the shooting, but no arrests have been made. Here's the Press Release:
Subject: Assault Investigation Underway
Larimer County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) personnel responded to the 3600 block of SE Frontage Rd, in the Johnson’s Corner area, early morning Saturday, 052513, on the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, a 55 year old female and a 49 year old male were contacted and the male was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The male was transported to a local hospital where he remains under treatment for his injury.
The circumstances regarding the incident continue to be investigated; no arrests have been made. The persons involved in the incident are known to each other. The LCSO does not believe there is any threat to the general public.
Personnel from Johnstown Police Department also responded to the original shooting call and assisted LCSO during the early phase of the investigation.
No additional information shall be released until the conclusion of the investigation.
