Last month agents arrested a man trying to enter the U.S.after a routine records check noted there was an arrest warrant from Weld County for Consuelo Zavala.
He was accused of murdering a coworker when they were field hands together.
Zavala fled to Mexico in 1997 after shooting Francisco Gasca 8 times.

Yesterday a Weld County jury found Zavala guilty of first-degree murder.  He had pleaded not guilty to the murder charge by reason of insanity. After he was convicted, Weld District Court Judge Julie Hoskins immediately ordered Zavala to serve life in prison without the possibility of parole.
