Man Crashes Car, Huffs Keyboard Cleaner In Front Of Cops

A man who crashed his SUV into a guardrail on a Main interstate inhaled computer keyboard cleaner in front of the officer who pulled him over, police say.

Sgt. Robert Ramsay tells the Portland Press Herald that police saw John Yates, 44, pull into a breakdown lane and pull out suddenly, nearly hitting a tractor-trailer. Eventually Yates hit a guardrail, crashing into a ditch.

That's when police say Yates grabbed a canister of keyboard cleaner and began huffing it.

Yates was arrested Monday night and faces charges including driving under the influence of drugs.
