Lane Pittman was arrested on July 4, 2015 for playing the Star Spangled Banner. Was it that simple? There is more to the story than just the Star Spangled Banner.

I have seen this story moving around social media today and another great example of people seeing what they want to see and not actually reading or listening to the entire story.

Many are up in arms that Lane Pittman was arrested for playing the Star Spangled Banner on the 4th of July this year and that isn't entirely what happened.

The first video is what most are seeing but the second video is what actually happened showing him playing in the middle of the street in Neptune Beach, Florida which was causing obvious problems. Police responded and told Pittman, out of respect for the Star Spangled Banner, he could continue if he moved to the sidewalk, which he did. He was supposed to stop after that due to the noise ordinance and complaints.

I have mixed emotions on this one due to it's nature but the law is the law. The 22-year-old guitar player was just out to have some fun, I get it. At the same time, he was causing a huge scene and perhaps could have been done at a different location where it wouldn't have caused such a scene...unless that is what he was after.

I also have a great deal of respect for our law enforcement and Pittman was clearly told he could finish the Anthem but then had to stop...he didn't. He immediately went into a Ted Nugent song (Not Ozzy Osbourne) and ignored the orders he was given. What were the police officers on the scene supposed to do?

Pittman was ticketed and given community service but is now refusing to do so because he would be admitting guilt and he says he's not guilty. Yes, he is guilty! He was not ticketed for playing the Star Spangled Banner, but that is exactly what he wants us to think.

That't my opinion and I'm sticking to it!
