We hope you're enjoying the sunshine and the warm temperatures that are wrapping this work week.

Starting Monday, winter will show us it hasn't gone anywhere.

A strong storm system is moving in from the Pacific starting this weekend, which means we'll replacing temperatures in the 50's with heavy winter coats and cranking on the heat in the house.

Forecasters are watching for the potential of a low pressure system developing somewhere over southeast Colorado as the system starts to swirl around the central Rockies.

The tracking of the storm is still in question, but many models are coming together and showing that this could be a big storm for all of eastern Colorado, with northern Colorado also being impacted strongly by this weather event.

Early indications have the storm dropping close to a foot of snow on the Fort Collins-Loveland-Greeley area, with close to two feet of snow being dropped in the mountains, including Estes Park.

The possibility exists for blizzard conditions to occur with this storm, however it is still too early to discuss where these conditions may happen, if they do at all.

Temperatures will crash across the area as the storm moves out, with highs only rebounding into the 20's.

Keep it tuned to us as we'll give you all the updates throughout the weekend, with the assistance of Denver Channel 7.
