There is no doubt the United States Army has suffered greatly the last couple months taking more casualties than any other branch of the service; three (3) more have paid the ultimate price since last Monday’s post. As irony would have it, I visited the original training site of the 10th Mountain Division up near Leadville CO on Father’s Day and today I see we have lost 2 from that very division. Why do we continue to let American’s die for someone else’s freedom? Enough is enough…

Lt. Col. Todd J. Clark - Age 40 from Evan Mills NY. Died June 8, in Sharana, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered from small arms fire received at Zarghun Shahr, Afghanistan. Lt. Col. Todd J. Clark was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.  (Also killed was Maj. Jaimie E. Leonard.)

Staff Sgt. Jesse L. Thomas Jr. - Age 31 from Pensacola, FL. Died June 10, in Helmand, Afghanistan. The incident is under investigation. Staff Sgt. Jesse L. Thomas Jr. was assigned to the 39th Transportation Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Kleber Kaserne, Germany.
