Luke Bryan Lashes Out at Restaurant for Disturbing His Anniversary Celebration
For Luke Bryan, Thursday night started out so full of promise. “It’s my anniversary. Daddy’s getting lucky,” he tweeted around 8PM ET. A few hours later he was singing the blues, but it wasn’t because of anything his wife Caroline did or didn’t do.
“Hey y’all. It’s been a great night. But. How ever. Virago the sub par sushi joint made me take my hat off mid meal,” an admittedly inebriated Bryan tweeted four hours later. Over the next hour, he unleashed a series of tweets elaborating on his anger with this restaurant and its manager.
“Join me in my boycott of virago Sushi restaurant against those who sing and perform country music,” he urged.
“If the server would like to claim the rest of their tip please contact me here,” he said after sharing that he still was kind enough to leave $150 in gratuity, though he would’ve left twice that much if the manager hadn’t “scolded” him. “Would red lobster treat us this way. Hell no.”
Fans were quick to show online support for the singer and his Under Armour baseball cap. We just hope that his wife didn’t doze off while he was sharing this news.
“I’m is drunk. Love y’all. See y’all in the morning,” Bryan tweeted before signing off for the night. This morning, his latest update shows that he’s seemingly in a better mood: “Hey y’all good morning. I feel great. About to eat a lovely all american breakfast. Wine, beer, champagne, and more beer. Yee haw.”
Bryan isn’t a nominee for the Best Artist to Follow on Twitter category in the 2011 Taste of Country Awards, but if he keeps this kind of behavior up, 2012 should be very promising. He is, however, in the running for the Song of the Year award for ‘Country Girl (Shake It for Me)’, which fans can vote on now.
Update: Luke Bryan has issued a new tweet to address the situation. “Well in the wake of my drunk tweets. I do wanna apologize to virago. The food was really great and the service was great to,” he says, adding, “Also caroline and i had a great night together. i never really was that mad. I truly was being silly and got carried away. Sorry again.”
Hopefully Luke will have nothing but nice things to say about his trip to Greeley! He’s set to perform Saturday June 23rd at The Greeley Stampede!
