Apparently, Luke Bryan is more afraid of alpacas than he is of heights. The country star had a little fun while on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday (Dec. 13) when he got roped into — literally, he was dangling by a rope — a game of You Bet Your Wife!

The singer and fellow guest Mario Lopez were hoisted to the rafters of the studio for the game that finds the guests' 'wives' challenging each other on how many things their 'husbands' can name in a given category in 30 seconds. If the husband loses the challenge, the host was to pull a lever, sending them zooming closer to a mat on the floor beneath their dangling bodies.

While Lopez's wife Courtney Mazza was on hand, DeGeneres subbed in for Bryan's wife Caroline for the game. The contestants were tied when Bryan was challenged to name eight things that are scary, effortlessly answering spiders, bats, anacondas, zombies, Feddie Kreuger, Jason, backstage at Ellen and ... alpacas?

"Can you tell me why you're scared of alpacas?" DeGeneres asked, which had the crowd in hysterics.

"They're just weird," Bryan replied.

The "Move" singer was ultimately declared the champion of the game after he breezed through his round of questions and Lopez failed to name eight things you can inhale (he was, however, able to name a list of classic country stars).

Bryan's latest album, What Makes You Country, was released on Dec. 8. He recently told Taste of Country and other media how the title track is a "statement song" that returns him to his roots. "It's a statement song and I think it's a big ol' hit and I love that about it. And I think people are going to hear that and go 'Hell yeah, he's speaking to me," he says.

The country superstar is set to appear as a judge on the American Idol reboot that premieres on March 11 on ABC.
