Luke Bryan is spending his second straight week at No. 1 with his latest hit single, ‘Drunk on You.’ The tune topped the charts last week, becoming the singer’s fifth career No. 1, and is now officially a multi-week chart-topper.

But ‘Drunk on You’ became a fan favorite long before its official release as a single. Bryan had previously worked the song into his live show, and fans couldn’t seem to get enough it of each time he would play it.

“Luke is rockin’ that song out on the road right now,” one of the song’s writers, Rodney Clawson, told Taste of Country when news broke that it would be the next single from Bryan’s ‘Tailgates and Tanlines’ album. “Everybody that goes to a Luke show calls me and tells me, ‘Dude! ‘Drunk on You’ sounds so cool live and everybody is singing along!’ Hopefully it will be a big hit.”

While the song is a big hit for Bryan, it also marked another smash song for Clawson and his co-writer, Chris Tompkins. Just this year alone, the two have had many hits on the charts both together and individually, including Blake Shelton‘s ‘Drink on It,’ Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney‘s duet ‘Feel Like a Rockstar,’ Carrie Underwood‘s ‘Blown Away,’ Josh Thompson‘s ‘Comin’ Around,’ Greg Bates‘ ‘Did It for the Girl,’ and the soon-to-be-smash from Jason Aldean‘s next album, ‘Take a Little Ride.’

Locking in all the same positions in the Top 5 as last week are Eli Young Band with ‘Even if It Breaks Your Heart’ at No. 2, Brantley Gilbert at No. 3 with ‘You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,’ Dierks Bentley‘s ’5-1-5-0′ at No. 4 and Kenny Chesney’s steamy ‘Come Over’ at No. 5.
