This will mark the 3,000th stop that these great folks have made to let the public and our WWII veterans experience a piece of America’s history. In addition, if you have the money, why don’t YOU take a flight?

Wings of Freedom’ is this weekend (July 11/12 2015) at the Loveland/Fort Collins Airport, where you get to check out some of America’s finest flying machines. The Collings Foundation travels the country giving the public the chance to get up close to WWII-era planes. This weekend’s event will mark the foundation’s 3,000th stop, so this one is kind of special!

On scene will be two bombers, a Boeing B-17 ‘Flying Fortress’ and a Consolidated B-24 ‘Liberator’, along with a P-15 Mustang fighter plane. You can bring your kids and explain to them what these planes were all about: fighting the forces of evil and returning freedom!

You can up the ante on the weekend’s event by taking a flight!  It’ll cost you a few dollars, but for a once in a lifetime experience… why not?

They'll also be taking WWII veterans on a flight down to Colorado Springs and back!
